Arlene Guerra began her career as a buyer in the fashion industry. After spending years working in the corporate offices, Arlene felt the desire to grow creatively and started to freelance as a stylist. In 2005, she made a series of accessories for one of her shoots. The jewelry was inspired by necklaces that she once made for her younger nieces, mementos that reflected her inner child.
P.Y.T. was born from Arlene's unique sense of humor and wit. She tells a new story with her collection season after season. She presents updated versions of timeless pieces, whether it's a found object or a remake of a vintage accessory. The themes change with the seasons, but you will always find Arlene's take on the rhinestone necklace, as she's attracted to its hard-to-resist fanciness.
Arlene describes her aesthetic as "cartoon-chic," a play on combining colorful youthful accessories with a grown-up sense of style. "I've always had a sweet tooth and I want my pieces to make the eyes hungry like a beautiful display of colorful pastries."
P.Y.T. collections have been featured in Glamour, Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vogue and WWD. Fans of the line include socialite Victoria Traina, Agyness Deyn, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Arlene spends her time between Los Angeles and New York.
